Vickar Exposes Himself
The retired vicar of Murley parish church, 83
year old Rev Ray-Pat "Cowpat" Cowley has been up to more
of his old tricks again. This time he's degraded himself in front
of some Welsh visitors from Wales.
The Abergonwy Barbershop Group had stopped in Deverton to visit Meg's
cafe for a cream tea on the way to their concert in Bourneworth, when
the Rev Cowley came out from the toilets and committed his act.

Sgt. Birley from the local Constabulary is looking into the
incident and hasn't said yet weather charges will be pressed against
the aged clergyman. |
New Road
Protest
The proposed new route through Dungstaple is again causing
Fresh controversy as protesters are claiming it will ruin an
alleged historic site of special scientific interest to historical science fiction
enthusiasts. Dungstaple The disused car park in the middle of Dungstaple Mudflats was where part
of an episode of Blakes7 was filmed, and protesters are trying to set up a visitors centre
for visitors from London
Unsafe Haystacks
Farmers, Crowmen, Needle Hiders and Haymen in West Deverton and
Gutbridge have been warned again, over making their haystacks too high. The farmers union
representitive Dave Browntooth has sent a leaflet to all the affected farmers in the
district, warning of the dangers caused by the prevailing easterly winds. Last year
several cows were blinded by falling chaff from blown haystacks. Moos So it's good Moos for local
cattle then!

Day trip To Exeter
The Local branch of the Deverton Knights Templar are organising a
trip to Exeter, to see how the other half live.
There has been much local interest in a shop which has been open 24
hours a day. And several members of the retail community are interested in seeing how it
works. Madness But a spokesman said that were not ready for any of that kind of thing
around here yet, it just sounds like retail madness to me. Why Take 2 Bottles

Dentist Returns
After a 15 year wait, Puddey
Finally gets a new dental surgery. The old Surgery was banned from
operating after the old Surgeon finally went blind. Hopefully the next generation of
Puddyton Kids will grow up with straight teeth. Goofy "Not before time",
said Anne Scroat yesterday, " all sixteen of my kids have grown up in the village,
and when we go to to Lyme Bay for our summer holidays, they all get teased by the other
kids who have benefited from orthodontic assistance" Mrs. Scroat went on to describe
how the other children ate apples and toffees in full view of their caravan, leaving her
whole brood in tears.

About time too say local viewers as the rest of the country were
able to recieve the channel over 25 years ago, Once more the West Country has been
