Page Hall & Capitol Cinemas

Page Hall Cinema - 2000
Idsworth Road, Page Hall, Sheffield

Open from 1920 - 1959 with 1500 seats
The steps at the right hand side were used in the film the Full Monty
Renamed the Roxy in 1945
Cinema was used as Bingo hall and the ballroom remained a dance hall.
The building has also been used as a dancing school, and recently a furniture shop.
Sadly the building has seen better days

The Capitol
Barnsley Road, Sheffield Lane Top

The Capitol was the last cinema to be built before the 1939-1945 war
It had 1700 seats and is still a very large building
In operation between 1939 and 1975
Name was changed to Essoldo in 1950
And Vogue for a short while before final closure
