And again. Here are a couple of new shots from 17th of June 2004. The brickwork is looking a little mucky on the sides by now. |

In the 70s I can remember bus drivers using some of the pavement level doors, which you could see at the bottom and bottom left of this shot. They must have been bus drivers offices. |

The Heeley green was built in a mock tudor style and the top floor under the gable had criss crossed black beams showing (or painted on) however the effect is now hidden under the white paint. Later the Tudor From 1961 - 1962 it played it's
last film before becoming Tudor Casino and Bingo.

Very sadly, this interesting building was burned down in a (probable) arson attack in the early hours of June 2, 2004. The Star reported that 40 firefighters were at the scene, it what was the biggest blaze in sheffield of the year so far. The outer walls are still standing, but aparrently unstable, locals have been warned to stay away and the whole area around is fenced and roped off.
Here are some pictures from lunchtime, hours after the blaze.
Sadly, this looks like the last views of the last remaining Heely Cinema. |

Here You can see through the open door into the inside of the building, which has lost all it's plaster and is open to the sky. | ||

This, from the right hand side of the building, shows the back of the façade, with long lintel still in place, above the lintel was the projection room I believe. |

The picture on the left is June the 4th 2004, the one at the right is June the 2nd 2004, but essentially the same view. The trees and the roof of the house can be seen on both photos. Also the roller shutter on the right is seen shining and bent after being pushed out of the way by the bulldozer jaws. The one on the left, is a good picture of what is left of the flytower. This was added to the main building after it was already in use. The original stage was against the backwall. I'm not sure if this part of the building was in use as part of potters snooker centre. Although on the otherside, of the flytower, is a passage and signs for potters, it always looked like an unrelated barn which was around the back. |
