Introduction

     Every year, the public record office declassifies information that has been stored in it's vaults for 30 years, under the 30 year rule. Matters of national importance are often made top secret, " kept under the hat " or " swept under the carpet ", until the people affected are deal or retired from public office, ( or in some cases removed and displaced in the middle of the night  ! ), but I didn't tell you that if you know what I mean.

Findings
     In the latest round of declassification, on 1st January, the government will try to make it a very low key event. But three particularly interesting, and subversive stories will come to light.

    Most people have been taken completely by surprise by these findings, more used to the usual fare of parliamentary machinations and boring government housekeeping memos. These stories however, are from the Top Drawer, good enough for a Spy Thriller, or even a plot in the popular James Bond shows, as seen on the television on christmas day. ( where tradition has dictated it should be for the last 71 years ! )

Iceberg
     One wonders weather this is just the " tit of the iceberg ". Do we actually need to know any more? Wherever will it end?

Puppets
      Is this kind of Subversion still being perpetuated, and has the " freedom of information act " allowed us to get to the TRUTH more quickly?
Do the current crop of M.P.s behave in a more secret way than ever before, despite their insistence of their New Openness in the modern political climate. WHY are we constantly fed lies, Half-truths, and false statistics, that are often revoked, repealed or amended a day later. Why are announcements always leaked to the press in an attempt to sweeten the story with the real announcement, that is made the next day, to a sigh of relief?
