Everyone has to start somewhere this was my first motorbike, and unfortunately the only photo I have of it.

In about 1987 or 1988, I bought this rare Yamaha DT100 for £150 from a friend of a friend. An old air cooled 2 stroke trail bike, I really didn't know what I was doing as far as maintenance was concerned back in those days. It was a bit nasty but got me to work in Rotherham in record time. Unless it was raining, when it would cut out as the front wheel would spray water onto the spark plug. This was later remedied with masking tape and a PGtips box..

Unfortunately it was stolen twice, the second time it didn't come back to me. The exhaust was always troublesome, very twisty and full of leaks, it would have cost me £200 quid for a new one, probably not worth it..
 
 
 


This bike was my brother Nick's It was a Honda MB5 a 49 cc moped. Later a 100cc engine was prized into it, and it became a proper bike. (as far as could be imagined anyway..)
